Jennings GP, Southeast CCS Round 7 (finale)

A great weekend was had by all. This was my first time at Jennings. It is a tight track with only a short back section (it’s not a straight) where you can open things up. The rest of the track reminds me of a really nice kart track. It took 5 rounds of practice to get comfortable. My initial times were in the 1:38 range. By the end of practice on Saturday I had that down to a 1:34. Not too bad.

Sunday I ran my regular LW F40 and GT Lights grabbing a 4th and 5th and dropping lap times to a 1:33. I was run off the track twice, once by an expert and another by another amateur. I re-passed them all, so that felt good. I was surprised to find that I was faster than some experts.

Lisa Theobold was there with her camera.

Not bad. I am starting to look like I know what I'm doing here. Thanks for the picture Lisa.

And by the way.  I counted the points after the race.
